    Humanus within Academia

    Academia Banner

Our mission is to help students during their developmental stages, within their educational environments. Through our services and with our continued support, educational institutions in their many forms are better prepared and equipped to meet the spectrum of their diverse students’ needs. That is our purpose — to help students through learning facilities — and Humanus’ organizational structure is specifically designed to keep students in the forefront of our minds during every stage of our relationship with students’ educational facilities. Humanus recognizes our potential impact upon students’ development and learning, and providing students with the best professional resources available is our top priority.

Humanus is a national provider of Academia Services dedicated to providing students of all ages with the educational and therapy services that are necessary for their healthy and happy development. The services and support which we deliver to children within school settings and educational environments come by way of School Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists (SLP), Occupational Therapists (OT), Physical Therapists (PT), Special Education Teachers, Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TOVI), Teachers of the Hearing Impaired (TOHI), and School Nurses. Humanus proudly serves students enrolled in public, private, and charter schools/districts, magnet schools, cyber charter schools, regional educational centers, intermediate units, juvenile justice centers, community programs, and in-home programs. Furthermore, all students and their families have access to an alternative means of service delivery — HumanusCare — which guarantees the availability of our therapy services to every student, regardless of any location, language, or financial barriers.

Our high service standards are a reflection of our dedication to our academic partners’ diverse student populations. As educational institutions, our academic partners strive to offer their students equal opportunities for academic achievement and advancement, as well as access to quality healthcare and medical resources. As a provider of Academia Services, Humanus strives to offer our academic partners the professionals which can provide the quality services that our partners’ students need and deserve.

By partnering with Humanus, an educational institution or learning facility gains an ally. We share the same mission, and we serve the same communities. With our partners, Humanus works to fulfill our shared mission by maintaining and reinforcing well-resourced learning environments, which, in turn, cultivate healthy and happy students. And that is what we want most of all.

    Academia Services Overview

Once an educational institution has administered a collaborative evaluation of a student’s needs and determined that a particular service is required to supplement current educational programs in order to ensure the healthy development and academic success of a student, a qualified professional is needed to provide that service to the student. Humanus is prepared to provide that student with the dedicated professionals who are ready to facilitate an optimal Individual Education Program (IEP) and help students grow and succeed.

Should an educational facility not have the means to evaluate a student’s needs, each of Humanus’ qualified professionals is experienced in the conducting of student assessments in educational settings. They administer diagnostic assessments of students, interview students’ teachers, and construct detailed student-profiles to ensure that final evaluations result in the reception of a thorough and proper IEP. They will also collaborate with students (when appropriate), students’ families, educational administrators, teachers, and any other relevant and necessary specialists. Our academic partners’ students are the key concern of everyone involved in the evaluation process, and our professionals commit themselves to determining the best approach to take for each student’s promoted well-being and academic success.

    Telepractice Services

At Humanus, we recognize the advantages of telepractice — a secured technological bridge that breaks the service gap between therapists and students. HumanusCare overcomes the inaccessibility that so many students and their families face when seeking therapy services — living in an isolated or rural location, language diversity, financial difficulties — and provides students with the opportunity to receive the therapy services which they deserve.

Humanus has noticed an increase in demand for telepractice services within both the academic community and healthcare industry. In response to this, we have not only launched our HumanusCare Services, but we are running a Seasonal Service Special, making it easier for our academic partners to fulfill the needs of their student population during the upcoming academic year.
